Lunch time scribbles are back
I’ve started publishing the lunch time scribbles on my Posterous blog. Little quick images done during lunch everyday on themes that I’ve got stuck in my head. Go and check them out!

I was going to write a big post about something or other and then I got caught up watching the soccer… ahem I mean I was watching some obscure science fiction you’ve never heard so don’t bother asking.. hehe yeah that’s it.
Anyways I got distracted from writing up the post but I can of course still sketch in front of the telly and thought I might share a couple of the scribbles. I’ve got a giant children’s pencil that I use in this particular book because I like how it forces me to draw big rather than small details.
I think I mentioned the first sketch yesterday in my Archie post because I couldn’t shake the style off and was watching the film Indiscreet so I got the idea for the hair and costume from that:

This other sketch is the very start of a concept I’m working on, extending the coffee and capes concept that inspired me for my paintings. It may appear that I have a commercial outlet for the idea and I’ve got to work on some more characters.

I’m actually happy with “Long Black” but I might need to dump the glasses so I can use his expressions better. I’ll probably go and watch Black Dynamite to research 
. I’m also looking forward to developing “Baby Chino” as there are two directions I can go but I’m keeping that to myself for the moment.
Alien on a tricycle versus Predator on a pogo-stick
As part of my lunchtime scribbles I struck on the idea of the alien from the Alien franchise riding a tricycle. Of course I took this idea further and suggested that the Alien had stolen the tricycle from its mortal enemy the Predator.
As is often the case this idea started to unravel into the ludicrous and it was suggested that the Predator would be chasing the Alien on a pogo-stick (his only remaining transportation I suppose).
This is the final piece in a recent commission piece request.
