God I love the Asylum.

They are the most high concept production company producing film today.  If you were sitting around with your buddies and you were spit-balling insane ideas for films that would be awesome you might come up with some of their ideas.  The thing is though whilst you are all just sitting around dreaming it they are living it.

Everyone knows my love for Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus.  It’s a simple idea with huge dreams behind it, I mean a freaking battleship sized shark launches itself out of the water and eats a jumbo jet! That’s brilliant on so many levels, the Academy Awards should give out a statue for the “most awesome scene dude”.  Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus would surely beat any competition simply for the jet eating scene.

That is of course until Mega Piranha’s trailer revealed itself to me and changed me… for the better.

I don’t know what is better.  The main guy kicking the mega piranha or the mega piranha eating the helicopter?  Alternatively it is actor Paul Logan’s magical delivery of pretty much some of the best dialogue I’ve heard come out of a trailer.  I don’t even have to see this to know that it is one to watch for the awards season next year.

I also like how in Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus the lead actress was Debbie Gibson and in Mega Piranha it is Tiffany.  I expect for Mega Turtle they’ll get the Bangles… sweet god that sounds brilliant!
