Just some of the words you’ll encounter when you go read the launch movie chat on the Midnight Movie Club :
Acromegaly
freaky pig tails
genocide
space shuttle
Dr. Holly Goodhead
buffoonery
golden tassels
lasers
sex in zero gravity
With a list of key words like that I’m surprised you even made it to the bottom of the list.
Go read what Dan and I ramble on about in Google’s fancy Wave thingy!!

So the votes are finally in and tallied. We have the three pop culture vehicles that will be featured in the follow up to the most awesome garage in the world illustration.
- The van from The A-Team
- The Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo
- KITT from Knight Rider
I was not so secretly hoping that the Light Bike from Tron would get a look in but it wasn’t meant to be and I am of course completely impartial for this particular piece. Because of the types of vehicles chosen I have to rethink the layout because it won’t work the same as the first one. I’ve got some good ideas though.
I expect to get the piece done sometime in the next three weeks, I’ve got a couple of weeks off work and I’ve got two other main projects on at the moment in addition to the Midnight Movie Club, Abe Decker and of course Quit Your Day Job.
The first one feels similar to “awesome garage” in that it deals with pop culture nostalgia and I expect it to show up as a limited edition print over on my Etsy store:
The other that I’ve been engaged for is a two part series titled kitchen ninja and below is the essentially drawn on a cocktail napkin thumb sketch for one half:
So what projects have you guys got up your sleeves for the Christmas break?
A while ago I read somewhere that there was a G-Force movie coming and it would mix live action with animation and there was a part of me who did a little geeky joy dance performed to the sweet tunes of a Mexican hat dance.
But the dancing was premature as the film that was actually released was this:

I really wish I had been warned before I clicked the link and saw this image for the first time - it was like being rick rolled without the LOLs
Instead of what would have been the entirely more hat dance generating:

The show was called Battle of the Planets and heavily edited from the original version called Gatchaman
The company who brought out the excellent TMNT CGI film took a run at Gatchaman and produced the following preliminary trailer:
I really enjoyed TMNT and I think this would have been really enjoyable, I say would have because according to Slashfilm the film may not ever be completed. I’m not entirely sure why this is either but I assume they’ve heard something or that the film has been pushed back over and over.
That’s a shame though as I have fond memories of that show.
Actually I just realised I have the DVDs around her somewhere maybe I should check it out again.
So what are your favourite cartoons from your childhood that should be made into a kick ass awesome CGI film?
