This weekend has been really huge for science fiction television especially since there’s been a bit of a drought going on of late.  It was nice to be able to sit down and watch three of my shows.  That’s not to say I haven’t been watching anything else but it has certainly been limited.

The reason why I first changed the comment system over to Disqus a while back was to try and foster a bit of community around the comments and the posts and over on Twitter and Facebook etc.

Now some of you have disliked the comment system and for valid reasons, fortunately you’ve generally stuck with it and I really appreciate that. Others quite like the system which is the party that I include myself. So for the first group I apologise if you thought for a second that I’d seen the light and was uninstalling, I haven’t, I won’t be for the time being.

I do like Disqus and I find it a really easy system to work with but there is another feature that I knew about but didn’t really think about until last night when I clicked Arjan’s name by accident and discovered that Arjan will forever be known as that Dutch guy who liked TMNT 2:

I don’t know if I would claim those comments either.

I’m kidding of course because as we all know (well as some of us might) Arjan is quite proud of his TMNT2 loving status.

Tracey and I went to the Finders Keepers markets here in Brisbane a couple of weeks ago, they’re markets that encourage up and coming designers and artists and it was their first time here.

One of the designer stalls reminded me of a post that Arjan from Dutchnid did ages ago where he was putting up his photos on the wall.  I thought what Arjan had done looked quite neat but when I saw the photo curator stall I instantly thought of him and his photos.  Rather than just emailing him I thought I might give an Aussie company a plug and spread the word because I know some of you are quite keen photographers.

So the photo curator way of mounting your photos up on the wall seems to be insanely simple, there are these coloured mounts that stick on the wall with low impact sticky stuff (thus not ripping your hard earned paint of the walls) and you just pop the photo in.  OK now that I write that it seems stupidly simple, but that is actually it.

It’s completely up to you how you arrange them and because it is so simple you can change your photos and move them around as your mood takes you.

Personally I’m terrible with printing photos up, I really should make more of an effort, but if I did I’d definitely use this system of displaying them, I also read on the blog that they are working on A4 sized ones which I might be interested in for some of my sketches.

So go check out their website at http://www.curator.com.au/, one thing I wasn’t sure of though and you would have to ask whether or not they ship overseas.
