Comments policy

It’s great that you want to contribute to the conversation, it’s the comments that really make Quit Your Day Job fun but I’ve got a couple of house rules.

Your comment will not be approved or will be removed if it is:

  • Irrelevant or abusive.  I’d like it if we keep things civil and on topic.
  • Spam in all forms, including overly self-promotional comments and comments that specifically exist to promote links to other websites. Of course links to related blog posts are fine, assuming they are not splogs or SEO bait.  You know who you are and what you are doing, I will remove your links if I feel you’re potentially abusing the system – if it happens over and over I’ll just start deleting.
  • SEO key word names – I will remove any comment that uses SEO words instead of your name or your made up online name (handle).   I currently use nofollow so it doesn’t add to your Google rankings.

Basically what I’m saying is, if your comment does not add to the conversation, it has no place here and at the end of the day this is my house.

Oh and I don’t entertain trolls (well not all the time).

If you want to point out a typo correction, please email me instead. Typo correction comments will not be approved (they are pretty much useless once the typo has been corrected).
