The Darjeeling Limited
January 2nd, 2008
I was lucky enough to see The Darjeeling Limited the latest film by Wes Anderson in the dying hours of 2007. To say that Anderson is a brilliant film maker who makes films that make me want to weep at their genius is like saying that Professor Stephen Hawking is pretty smart. It doesn’t do him justice.
I can’t really tell you why I loved The Darjeeling Limited so much, it’s one of those things that is hard to put your finger on. I love Anderson’s style, his soundtracks and the wonderful attention to detail.
The Darjeeling Limited is partly set on the train that carries the name of the film as three brothers come together to, unknowingly for two of them, visit their Mother. The three brothers also go on a spiritual trek and reaffirm their bonds as brothers.
All the regular Anderson contributors are here including a great cameo by Bill Murray and Anjelica Huston.
Good luck finding this in the cinemas, it is worth the search though.
