Posterous: when you can’t get enough social media
August 21st, 2008
Zen Habits mentioned this via his Twitter feed and asked what everyone thought of it, I’d never heard of Posterous and was slightly intrigued, enough to do as it suggested and just email a message through to see what the site would do with it.
You see Posterous is a blogging platform with a slight difference, it is built primarily around emailing your posts in, photos, mp3s, text etc. Â You email the site and it will automatically set up the post for you.
Actually I think it’s the easiest registration I’ve ever had to do because all you do is email what you want your first post to be and it will automatically set up your account, post the email and send you a message advising how to access and set up a password etc.
So whilst I really don’t need another avenue to vent my thoughts etc I’m going to use it as a picture blog and post a drawing a day there. Â Most of these images will already have been posted here and I will continue to do so but this is a streamlined list of my visual ideas alone.
Anyone who wouldn’t mind a blog but doesn’t want to go through the crap to set one up and would like it to be nice and simple could really consider it.
It also appears to be a really nice community as I got a couple of welcome messages and encouragement.
