Peeps R Concernd Bout Privacy Wit Street View

Google Street View has finally arrived in Australia and everyone that I know thinks it is awesome. There are however a vocal group that are calling for Google’s blood stating that the internet giant is not respecting their privacy.

Oh I know I’m going to piss off a few people here but I’m going to say it: kooks.

Look I demand my privacy as much as the next guy, that is if the next guy was living in a fortified compound out in the middle of nowhere with an giant pile of canned pears. I’m a huge supporter of the privacy act and of privacy in general.

But the complaints that I’ve heard so far are really just a bit of hot air. People are getting all upset because I can virtually walk down their street and look at a low resolution picture of their house.

Are you kidding me?

I can walk down your street and look at your house if I want to and there is nothing you can do about it. In fact all of those people requesting that their houses be removed from Street View I have half the mind to drive past your house and have a big good old fashioned higher than high resolution real life stare.

Dolts.

I’ve heard crap on the radio like oh my they’ll know when you’re out… must… stop… blood… from… seeping… from… ears… from… exposure… to… stupiditiy…

They’ll know that you were out seven months ago!?!?

It’s not real time and if you took the effort to actually look you’d know that. But no the sky is falling and the terrorists are using Street View to plot their attack on your mail box.

Honestly I just want to know what privacy is being impinged upon that isn’t just as easy in real life to do. Yes I agree on things like private roads etc, identifying people and licence plate numbers.

One last point that I heard, what about stalkers.

The only reason why you would want to use Street View rather than actually visiting the house is either you are the laziest, fattest stalker on the planet and frankly you don’t worry me or you’re stalking someone in an entirely different city which makes you the dumbest stalker and frankly I’d rather have you looking at the one blurry photo of my house from seven months ago than actually visiting.
