Over on twitter the wife of my best friend from primary school whom I found via Facebook posted that he believed that Batman would beat Jason Bourne thanks to the utility belt, oh and probably because Batman is the world’s greatest detective, martial artist and all round ass kicker (Tracey got me Batman shoes for xmas: sweet!).
Anyway I countered with the fact that it matters little because Jack Bauer would beat them both. Miscmum’s response was that she believed that Bourne would be triumphant. Weird heh? Then I asked Tracey what her thoughts on the matter were. She backed Bourne also? Is this a world gone mad???

I’m going for Bourne as well. Of course i have only seen three episodes of 24 so my judgement is slightly ill informed. But that has never stopped me in the past.

Jack’s one of those guys who just hates to lose - so even when he does, you know that unless you’ve incinerated him and sprinkled salt over the ashes, he’s probably gonna keep coming back at you…
although I’m saying this having seen only Days 1 and 2 of “24″… (and having read stuff here and there about the subsequent seasons)

Only saw random episodes of 24, but Jack Bauer kicks one hell of a lot more ass than Bourne. But Batman would kick his ass because …the utility belt and his awesome cars

Arjan - Ummmm I’m not even really sure how to respond to that, on one hand you are praising Jack on the other you are stabbing him in the back with a batarang.
Superman’s only weakness is Kryptonite. Jack Bauer laughs at Superman for having a weakness.

Karen - ignorance is no defence! If you watched Jack you would come to love Jack. In the meantime I’ve emailed your husband and questioned his manliness after he called Jack old and slow, I’m just afraid that some lines must be drawn.
Every mathematical inequality officially ends with “< Jack Bauer”.

Oh screw it: Jason Bourne would serve up Jack Bauer’s ass on a plate every time!
I haven’t seen very many episodes of 24, but I’ve never seen Jack without his gun. Jason was kicking ass even when he had no memory of who he was and what he’d done.
Jack may keep coming back up (like John said), but Jason would just put him right back down again.

the only problem with me chosing Batman over Bauer is that Batman doesn’t kill his opponents often enough..just to keep an storyline open. But I will still stand by my choice.

I’ve seen every episode of 24, and I have to say that in a scuffle, Jason Bourne would kick his ass as he is a very improvisational fighter, and he has both a speed and training advantage… and he knows how to plan an ambush… because think about all the times he ended up being some place when he was least expected.
That’s not to say that Jack Bauer isn’t badass… it is just that in these circumstances, well, I think he is at a disadvantage. Of course, he would be the one I’d want if I needed some terrorists dealt with… because he works really really fast.
