Something occurred to me this afternoon when looking at a movie poster. The next domain extension they should release is dot movie. Especially since Hollywood is so hell bent on turning every book and comic into a film.
Say for example you have a character named Hellboy. This character is well known as a comic book character and has his own website with a domain and all. Hellboy.com and then they decide to make a cool movie about him but the domain name is already gone so they settle with hellboymovie.com - well why not apart from the fact they don’t exist shouldn’t they use hellboy.movie then it would make sense.
It occurs to me that there are so many “franchise”movie.com sites it just seems sensible to start releasing these. So when they do remember that I predicted it and send me cash, lots of cash or Hellboy comics.

There you go, making sense again. Next thing you’ll be doing is suggesting that someone make a “dot blog” domain.

I guess it will be the 3 letter ‘mov’ alternative because they also made biz, gov etc.
.movie might be a bit long but that’s just me trying to steal your fame.
A brilliant idea now go watch my commentluv and send me some beeds!

I’m with Arjam on this one: “dot mov” appeals to me better, but he wouldn’t have come up with it without your stroke of genious. Maybe you can split the cash and Hellboy comics.

I meant ‘Arjan’ in my last post. Sorry Arjan

OMG Golfwidow or GW as I affectionately refer to you .blog is a great idea!

Arjan the only reason why I wouldn’t have said mov is the quicktime file extension may confuse Luddites. BTW keep your hands off my fame - I’m now off to read a review, maybe yours. Oh and beads will be sent - oh yes.

Ian - there will be no splitting of cash or of Hellboy comics - absurd suggestion.

@arjan, great idea with the .mov instead of .movie. Keeps it shorter and more standard.
