Been married seven years now

December 16th, 2007

It is hard to fathom but I have now been married to Tracey for seven years. If we were Star Trek The Next Generation we would be coming up to our series finale and thinking about doing movies that will kill Captain Kirk.

Fortunately we are not Star Trek The Next Generation (or Voyager for that matter, which is a relief) so there are no Kirk killing films coming up in our future nor is there a series finale (hopefully there never will be).

As I tell Tracey that I’ve managed to work Star Trek into my anniversary post she is rolling her eyes, but that’s ok because I know that she wouldn’t want me any other way (except of course if I read/wrote more poetry and didn’t got sore legs at concerts and possibly looked a little more like Clive Owen and probably didn’t pick sci fi dvds like they’re orphan puppies at the pound… ok lets not examine too closely why she is still with me and I’ll just thank my lucky stars she is!!)

Wow, that’s cool. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you both, which makes it even cooler in a way. I’m going to stop now before I start sounding like a fridge.

Arjan - yeah I’m pretty aware most of the time how lucky I am and she does accept the Star Trek geek in me (mostly).

Thank you kindly Dan, we were lucky that nature put on a pretty decent show for us. It threatened to rain all day and only started the moment we walked into the reception which is pretty cool timing and meant we got some great shots looking out at the storm over the ocean.

In the age where half of all marriages end in divorce, it’s wonderful to read that you two are still happy in love. It’s also good to see you’re looking fitter now than seven years ago :-)
