Ladies and gentlemen, we have a Spock
July 26th, 2007
The rumour mill has gone into an absolute Spock casting frenzy. Several sources are declaring that Zachary Quinto of ‘Heroes’ fame is in final stages of contract processing to play our favourite Vulcan in the new Star Trek film and will probably be announced at Comic Con.
Man I hope so.

He looks like Spock! I can’t comment on his acting ability because I didn’t watch Heroes (I’m going to buy it on dvd and watch it in one hit) but I don’t hear bad things and it’s not going to hurt the project having someone who actually looks like the icon.

There’s going to be people unhappy with this news but quite frankly Star Trek fans are probably the hardest fan group to make happy.
Get a life. Look forward to the new film.

I must agree - he looks exactly like a Vulcan should look. He’ll make a great spock.

I think it’s really important for the actor to look the part. Mind you that was pretty easy - the hard part is finding a Kirk!

Well I’m happy to say that it is now all confirmed - Zachary Quinto will be playing Spock… well young Spock… the other big news is that Leonard Nimoy is confirmed to be reprising his role - if only for a cameo.
