Recent Comments

November 23rd, 2006

I’ve added a recent comments plugin to the sidebar here and over at Crypt Hunter, I think it’s a good way to draw a little more attention to a post and hopefully garner a couple more comments.

I was reading a survey and one of the questions is:

Do you prefer more comments or more unique visitors?

And I was surprised after giving some thought to this that I would prefer less unique visitors and more comments on my blogs - especially over at Crypt Hunter. What do you guys prefer? (ooooohhh shameless plea for more comments!!)

Also I’m looking around for a plugin for WordPress that will generate links to random older posts on the sidebar - anyone know of one?

Comments are great as it shows that people are actually reading your stuff, but I also like to insure that my own readership is continually being built up. Therefore I am also interested in the unique hits.

    Cheers from Toronto!

    Can I pick both?

As I look ahead to see what marketing opportunities may lie ahead for the Pointless blogs, I can see that uniue visitors are very important.

On the other hand, I really treasure the little on-line community all my commenters have helped create.

The only problem with the comments in the sidebar is that I don’t want to comment and bump people off with my own comments!

Mr Fab - You can have both - but only this one time and as long as you eat your vegetables.

Sue - Hello to Toronto!!! I think everyone wants more of both!!!
