coffee update

March 28th, 2007

Well third day and that horrible headache is only in the background of my head now. I can at least move my head around without waves of pain! It actually made me feel a little better knowing that others out there have had the same symptoms (at least I’m not mad).

Do I feel better? Not really. I’m guessing it will take a couple of days before the body starts giving me some reward for no coffee LOL.

Drinking huge amounts of water too which is the first part of my detox and I’m starting to think with more clarity again. Of course that’s being offset by the coffee LOL.

Reading a couple of Daredevil collections and I have to say I’m warming to the character. He wasn’t a character I was ever interested in. Felt a little like a bad Batman copy. So I was very happily surprised when I read a Frank Miller collection and it was great.

I still don’t see what the issues people have with the movie, I didn’t mind it. Tracey won’t watch it because she really doesn’t like Ben Affleck and Jen Garner (though she has told me she will watch Alias with me and maybe Electra).

Actually Electra was one of the reasons why I started reading Daredevil because I’m doing my best to read up on the character for Pop Culture Heroinesbut there seems to be some conflicting versions of her - oh well that’s comic book characters for you!

    Two things…

Firstly, you really can’t go wrong with Frank Miller, whether it be ‘Dark Knight’ or ‘DareDevil’

Secondly, are you (and others) saying that coffee gives you headaches? I’ve had headache every now and then for years, and put it down to stress, and over work in I.T.

Hmm, I might have to finally give it up; darn it StarBucks too…

I feel for you Lee. I was getting headaches when I was quitting smoking…although my need for nicotine only led me to want caffine and chocolate all that more. Glad to say and I am no longer smoking and have cut down to one Mountain Dew a day…..The chocolate…Well after eating boxes of Girl Scout cookies in February and gaining around 8 lbs., I am forcing all of my will power to avoid indulging on any more chocolate. Those Girl Scout cookies are wicked evil.

As far as I am concerned, caffine, chocolate and nicotine are all evil….why do we love them so?

    Stay strong….This too shall pass.

I didn’t see Daredevil either because of Ben. But I hear that Collin did a great job as the bad guy.

This is a fun little community that you have in your site. Good job.

Nav - no the headaches I got started the first afternoon after I stopped drinking it. But I have read people saying they’ve had headaches etc thanks to coffee. I’ve never experienced that myself.

LX - I don’t like being relient on anything including coffee and it’s no good for your body. I may go back to a cup a day or every second day after I’ve lost some weight. By the way I love Steadman’s work too and that piece with Oscar talking to the other car out the window of the shark is brilliant!

Lucky - just mailed your croc! I was wondering how the no smoking thing was going as you hadn’t mentioned it for a little while - good on you! I’m cutting back on sugar too so that’s going to start to hurt too I imagine - but the headaches whilst still there are only in the background and almost all gone - hard to focus on things though! Mmmmm girl scout cookies sound nice - we don’t have them here.

Renagu - LOL yeah I don’t mind Colin most of the time but once again Tracey really doesn’t like him either!!! So that was three strikes for poor Daredevil - I do recommend giving it a look if you like comic book movies just don’t expect it to change your world!

Oh and thanks for dropping by I like the little community myself - they are all excellent people! Going to spend a little time at your 80s movies site

I always thought Daredevil was an underrated hero. Daredevil and Green Lantern.

Mr Fab - I totally agree on the Green Lantern, I also throw Aquaman in there too - I get a perverse enjoyment in Aquaman fighting underwater crime.

I think the Flash to a lessor extent also even though he’s gotten his own tv series and later went on to be Dawson’s dad!
