Microsoft’s Grammar Checker written by Yoda?

I was writing an email to promote the new Invisible Woman article on Pop Culture Heroines when the helpful spell and grammar checker felt that the sentence I was writing was out of place. Granted the sentence did need to be reworded slightly but it was the suggestion that made me look twice.

Away put your grammer I mean you no harm

I don’t have Office Vista but is this the future for Microsoft products?

Yoda replaces the paperclip

  1. Thats awesome! I love your answer to the stupid spell checker.

    BTW,

Commercial today I saw, Stargate & Atlantis back on, will be April 13th in the states here.
Hmmm, excited very much I am!

    (man, that was difficult)

  2. Sometimes I just can’t make sense of the grammar choices is suggests! Do or do not… there is no try.

  3. Ah, the good old grammar check. It’s getting better and better, funny thing also is that upon installation of office 2007 unlike with previous versions it was turned off by default rather than turned on. Apparently Microsoft is losing faith in their grammar check as well, or should I say Microsoft losing faith in grammar check apparently they are.

  4. That’s great! I always love it when that stupid annoying little paperclip shows up to help me write a letter. Could you imagine how much more fun it would be with Yoda?

  5. Ah, FINALLY the real reason behind the Purely Random Microsoft Spellchecker. Vote for Yoda too, do I.

  6. I’m glad someone else noticed. MS Word has been giving me the most rediculous suggestions lately.

  7. Geez that is funny, and so true! I think MS Word is a little poor on the grammar checker, generally seems to just produce drivel. It would be funny to have a little Yoda popping up through.
