Bad craziness…
February 6th, 2007
We were somewhere along the M1, on the way out to the old house, when the exhaustion began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel a bit lightheaded. Only one more run thank god.” Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?
Did you say something? Asked Tracey.
No I’m just a bit spacey.
No point in mentioning these bats, I thought. Poor woman will see them soon enough.
I don’t know what it was about this move but it was truly the most awful experience we’ve ever had.
Maybe it was the manic and crazed fashion that we needed to get out in. Maybe it was the great pumpkin of the universe giving us one last vicious belting before laying off! I hope it is the latter but I think it a combination of the two.
Twenty four hours straight we battled with that messed up fiend of a house. I know what Dr Gonzo felt when he talked about a savage burn.
Small flickering black spots passing in my periferial vision. Distracting. Irritating. Frustrating. We had forgotten to eat that night as we cleaned the house and things were getting spacey.
The house though is now clean and vacated. Our entire lives packed up in 12 days. Thankfully we now have the cable on at Tracey’s dad’s place and I can stretch my virtual limbs again!
I have about seventeen scraps of paper with various notes scribbled whilst on the bus or sitting amongst the boxes so at least I’ll have stuff to post over the coming weeks!
Don’t be offended if I don’t make it to your blog in the next couple of days - I will catch up.
One thing though - in the middle of all the mess and frantic packing a package arrived that really brightened me up!
Lucksnap from Worth it all sent me a bunch of really cool playing cards for my collection. I feel so awful that I haven’t sent off her package yet but I will be off to the post office with a few extra things in store for her from Australia now!
Ahhhhh now to bake in the glow of my monitor…

This is hilarious! I’ve been complaining about the Vista upgrade I’ve been doing (seems like it’s taking weeks, rather than a DAY!), but who am I to complain…
Your move sounds like it was a total nightmare. Have you waken up yet?

Nav - I know what it’s like though to be presented with a computer problem and not be able to work it out - it’s a whole other level of frustration!
Lucky - Oh god I know someone wrote about having a cup of coffee whilst sitting amongst the boxes - no for me it’s the sitting in front of the computer after a week away from it! You have to let me know if there is anything else from Australia that you want me to send over!

Dont be silly……You dont have to send me anything else.
But if you really want too, a piece of official Steve Irwin memorabilia would be cool.
I loved his exuberance for life.
Glad to see you back around again!
