Interruption to normal schedule…

January 18th, 2007

Well unfortunately this morning we found out that we have to vacate the premises within two weeks. We just completely forgot that our lease was coming up for renewal and it looks like the owners have decided not to continue.

It couldn’t have come at a worst time and I don’t think we’ve ever had to pack up and move within such a short timespan before. What it means is for a couple of weeks maybe even up to a month we’re going to be homeless refugees camping out with relatives.

That brings up all sorts of concerns though mainly to do with our dogs - because we have two dogs we’ll need to get a permit to stay there and from what I read it’s quite complicated so we face the problem of splitting the kiddies up because Baxter the boxer won’t handle the stress of going away to a boarding kennel.

We had to have our dogs in boarding for six months once and it took us ages to get Baxter back to his normal self. It certainly wasn’t the kennels fault it’s just that Baxie doesn’t like being away from his Mum.

Apart from that all our stuff will go into storage briefly whilst we sort out what we’re doing. Maybe we’ll make the move to Melbourne maybe there will be work here in Brisbane which is too good to pass up.

So if you notice that I’m not posting as much or as often that’s the reason why but I don’t imagine too much of a disruption (I hope!).

We’ll certainly miss your pearls of wisdom however we wish you a smoothe and painless transition.

Thanks T - I’ll still be around just no where near as frequently in the coming weeks.

I feel for you already, but mainly because of the packing up and moving part. I hate to pack, and I hate to move…

If I was closer, you could have stayed with me, I have a spare room. Well, till Chloe decides to get a job, and pay some rent! - LMAO

On a serious note, take it easy out there, and good luck with the move.

Thanks Nav - if we’re ever over there I might take you up on a place to stay!!!

It also means you won’t get any photos of ‘the collection’ until we are settled into a new place!

Am sure the ‘collection’ is worth the wait. And, you can have them challenge each other for ‘prime real estate’ on the shelf…

Lee, I hope you guys have a smooth transition and the puppies are ok. They are so helpless. On another note, I did mail out your cards on Tuesday. I hope that they get to you in time!!

Oh that’s awesome Lucky - we’ll be keeping that PO Box anyway so that won’t be a problem!

So, is this move to the Melbourne area? I know you’d planned on moving there, but, this seems to be ‘another’ type of move…

Nav - we’re hoping that this will indeed turn into the fabled journey to Melbourne - it depends on jobs I suppose. If I get a really good one here then we may stay in Brisbane. It depends on the opportunities at this stage. It was actually a little unexpected because we hoped to possibly go onto a six month lease or a monthly one and didn’t expect that we’d be told we’ve got 13 days to get out!

We just won’t have the cash to go straight into another rental bond until we get it back from this real estate agent - so we’ll be nomads for possibly a month or so.
