Metrosexuality - UR DOIN IT WRONG

September 19th, 2008

There was a song that came out a couple of years ago that promoted the piece of advice that you should always wear sun block.  Apparently music and song is not the way to get an idea through to me because much to Tracey’s irritation I almost never wear sunscreen.

What can I say, when the whole metrosexual thing started going around I assumed that I would get on board, I mean you’re supposed to be rather interested in yourself and I’ve always had a remarkable ego so it seemed like a naturally good match.

I’m like the worst metrosexual ever though.

I mean there’s so much bloody trimming, plucking, creams etc.  It’s exhausting.  I have a hair conditioner that is supposedly a leave in conditioner.  That’s right, I put it in and then walk around with conditioner in my hair….?

I’m not keen on shaving either, I shave and then two minutes later there is a shadow. Honestly I was born in the wrong era, I would have killed it in Miami Vice!

Then there is beta hydroxy acid, which apparently I’m supposed to put on my face.

Beta hydroxy acid.

I’m pretty certain acid in the face is how Two Face got started.

You should try being a girl. The number of things you are expected to shave, pluck, wax, trim and apply is ridiculous.

I’m with you. One day it’s that acid stuff, the next you’re getting botox.

Not bloody likely, needles don’t go in unless I’m kicking and screaming - which makes being diabetic fun.

I’m attempting to get better with it, two days running now I’ve worn sunscreen and used cleanser rather than plain old soap :)

blame beckham i think he started this thing on metrosexuality lol. it really depends on the person if you really want to take care of your skin and such but yeah washing your face before u sleep is fine with me anyway. my boy spends 30 mins for his “grooming time” which means trimming nails & shaving but he’s not really the metrosexual type he’s just clean.

vanity has it’s price they say. :P

Beckham in my mind is so far removed from being a man it’s ridiculous. I think he lets his wife dress him up too much :)
    Clean is good.

We have a word for metrosexuals out my way………… ponce, another is sissy and I won’t go into the rest cos they are nasty, but yeah, you can keep the metrosexuals. As long as my man showers regularly and knows how to use deoderant I’m happy! lol

I’m loving those brightly coloured 80s inspired t-shirts that are currently going around on the metros too…. not.

Deodorant seems to be a challenge though for some which I find disheartening.

that’s what I said to someone just yesterday: I don’t use creams on my skin..I shower, that should be enough :P

I do shave regulary..cause otherwise I’d have a big beard in a week..Although sometimes I let it grow back a bit.

Yeah my beard grows in really quickly too and if I leave it a couple of days it really irritates my skin to shave, so I’ve got to go one way or the other and right now it is clean shaven.

Same here I hate it if I don’t shave 2-3 times a week my skin doesn’t like it, other then that shower a day maybe two depending on where your at and what you do. wash the face in the morning and at night bruch the teeth 3 times a day or more if needed deodorant and some colonge some moose in the hair and that is as metro as you can ge me ;)
