Johann Krauss: another markers sketch
August 23rd, 2008

Johann is probably my favourite character from the Mignola universe behind Hellboy himself. Visually he’s an interesting character in that you have to portray expression through gestures rather than facial expressions. He obviously looks a look different in the movie too for those of you who only have that experience of him (his character is different too).

As (mostly) always, you’ve created a damn good piece of art.
I won’t ask. I really want to, but I won’t.

Ghost Rider and I aren’t really friends right now.
I’m having a lot of trouble with him and there a re a bunch of screwed up sketches in my bin to illustrate the point.
I don’t know what’s going on with it, I’m just not in a place where the character is flowing onto the page.
I’ll keep at it but am not promising anything at this stage (I’ve got a pencil sketch I might post but it feels really forced).

I’ll have to look that up as I’ve never heard of it myself
