I have yet to see pretty much any of these films that came after Not Another Teen Movie, I came close to Epic Movie and I have the Superhero one floating around here somewhere but I can’t see myself making any effort to do so. Â I do have to comment though that I think this is a horrible, horrible idea:

That is one movie I will be giving a WIIIDEE berth.
Yeah, I used to find them amusing, like Hot Shots with Charlie Sheen, but those are just getting worse.

I think I stopped thinking these movies were funny after Scary movie 2. Although I probably will watch it when there’s really really really nothing else on tv and I’m really really really bored out of my skull (not very likely).

Not only did they trample all over comedy and kill it, no one can identify the corpse.

SamuraiFrog - it’s just lazy, you can’t just copy a scene from another film and crush the character with a cow and expect it to be funny, I mean it sounds five year old funny but not ‘Im spending money to see this’ funny.
I thought this when watching a scene from Not Another Teen Movie, I think they were mimicking the pie scene from American Pie.

Now, I’ve railed against these kinds of spoofs for a long time (I mean, I don’t like most of the Brooks/Zucker collection very much because I hate the kind of throw away humor they employ), but I will have to defend Not Another Teen Movie when it is being compared to these Movies that are being made now because it used a much broader canvas to lampoon the entire teen movie genre, and I have to say that the movie did have some great lines like:
“Funny, you’d never suspect that everyone at this school is a professional dancer.”
Which, I believe is really ripping into this particular scene of utter ridiculousness.

LOL MC I probably didn’t clarify clearly enough that I did enjoy Not Another Teen Movie but there were certain scenes in it which were lazy and overly stupid, but indeed there was plenty else in there that was really funny.
I think Scary Movie 1 and 2 were good also but not impressed with 3 (and is there a 4??).

Scary Movie 3-4 were made by different producers and writers than 1-2. And they blew like an amateur porn actress… ineptly, without passion and with no happy ending for anyone.
