I am finally done backing up the desktop machine, cleaning it and putting it back in its box for storage for great pumpkin of the universe knows how long. The problem is that at Tracey’s parent’s place it is an old style queenslander home and so there is a lot of dust, it is impossible to fight it and I was watching my big and expensive computer get choked up with the stuff.
So instead of letting it get any worse I’ve packed it up and copied its contents to my 1 TB external drive. Besides I bought a kick ass lap top and have barely used it except to pull my arm out of its socket lugging it around town once.
Thing is the laptop is on Vista so I’ve got to get used to its quirks. I mean it all seems cool and there are little bits and pieces that I love but it is different enough from XP to slow me down occasionally.
Of course if I had no laptop it would suck more so complain not I think.

Well I was coming here to post how not evil vista is and how Fred came loaded with it and I rather like the snipping tool.

I think that the vista update thingie corrected a lot of problems (so I’ve heard). But I’m still on XP for now.

Marita - ah right, this explains the other comment. I’m actually pretty happy with Vista apart from as I said a few quirks that I’m getting used to.
Now it doesn’t explain the magical pink unicorn - is this a pop culture reference that I missing? I can’t have that!!!

Ah so that makes much more sense - my deity of choice is the Great Pumpkin of the Universe. He is a vengeful spiteful omnipotent vegetable who just enjoys sticking it to me.
