Zen and the Art of Skulls

Zen and the Art of Skulls - Lee Sargent 2008

This is kinda cool, one of my drawings is going to be on display in an exhibition on April 30th (my birthday) as part of the Rise and Fall International Skull Drawing Competition 2008.

Granted all entries are part of the exhibition but I’m very happy with myself for putting in an entry and I love the timing.  I had a couple of other ideas for pieces that I never got around to so you never know I may enter them for next year.

Were you tempted to draw a bullet hole between the eye’s of one of them? C-mon, you can be honest with us ;-)

  6. goatlady - I hadn’t seen that site - I had a couple of other ideas for drawings that I may still do and I’ll submit one over there!

  7. Arjan - thank you sir, now eyes up here.

  8. Sam - I’m sure there is one out there! Perhaps you should run the comp yourself on your blog!!!

  9. Ian - you know I didn’t even think that at all! Now that you suggest it I can’t get it out of my head LOL.

Actually the two other ideas I had was one was a typical cliché image with a skull in the Mexican desert with a cactus next to it etc (it could have a bullet hole!) and the other would be all black with two circles showing the reflection of a skull with eyes inside it - so you’re inside a skull looking out at a reflection of the skull you’re inside.

  10. Thanks a lot Marita!!!

  11. OK, all together now….

    “Happy Birthday to you,
    Happy Birthday to you,

    Happy Birthday to you.

    Hip hip, Horay!!
    Hip hip, Horay!!”

    :-)
