Wonder Woman pencil sketch
As I mentioned previously, I’m working on a Wonder Woman drawing instead of finishing the Iron Man one up just because I’m not sure where I want to go with that one.
So I started a pencil sketch of Wonder Woman, I didn’t want to do one of those typical heroic poses, I’m actually not so interested in those, I like thoughtful, contemplative or stricken poses in my colourful comic book characters.
I don’t know what she is feeling in this, lost maybe? She probably doesn’t feel wonderful.
I’m not sure.

I’m suspecting I might ink this, maybe by the end of the week, got a couple of things on this week that’s taking my mind away from this or maybe that look on her face is a little like I feel.

I like this (although somehow I can feel huge waves of you soooo not being shocked by that). It does feel maybe a little lost - when it first popped up on the screen, the first word to pop into my head was “sad”…
but actually, not sad in a sad way.
I think maybe she’s not as lost as she thinks she is.
John’s last blog post..Bonfire time
She looks…………. like she’s had everything stuff up and is past feeling any emotion over it.
Bettina’s last blog post..No friends like your old friends???
Hmmmm, her face looks pretty blank to me, no real emotion there at all.
Did I just get myself banned from QYDJ?
John - it’s always nice to hear you say so though. I think I get new thoughts off the sketch each time I look at at, isn’t it odd how much her mood shifts whilst staring at it. Maybe the inking will solidify her thoughts on the page.
Bettina, maybe that’s it, maybe the reason I can’t pick what emotion I’ve drawn here is because the character has all ready gone through them all and run dry. So as you look at it long enough you can see the echo of each of those emotions that she used up as everything has stuffed up for her…
I may just be thinking about it too much
but it’s nice to think about some depth of a drawing you’ve done even if it is just in your head!
LOL Ian that’s the beauty of art it’s all open to interpretation - there is plenty of stuff out there that I get nothing emotionally from. So consider your ban to be withheld for the time being.
I think she looks worried, no apprehansion maybe, like she is waiting for something to happen. The hands up near her chin make a difference too.
Oh and I like it
Gemisht’s last blog post..Are You Getting Enough Exercise?
Gemisht - thanks for saying so! Apprehension is a good term I think, I hadn’t thought worried either, I just assume it was after an event or the learning of something awful.
That’s cool, though I always find the hooded WW a bit out-of-character. Then again, I grew up with Lynda Carter…
Rol’s last blog post..Are You Experienced?
Rol - I didn’t actually think of it as the hooded version of her costume because I’m with you; but then I’m a traditionalist when it comes to costumes. So it’s just a hood/cloak thingy with normal costume underneath.
