I can see clearly now - a QYDJ podcat

After skipping last weeks PodCat I know how devastated you all were so I got everyone out of the room so I could do one tonight for you all. I’m not promising anything exciting. I’ll warn you now. But you do get a chance to hear me stuff up 20/20 vision with 40/40 for some reason. I will also mention the Matrix.

Just wait until you get to the seasonal differences… coming in from the cold to a warm house or coming out of the heat and humidity of a summer’s day into a highly cooled environment is going to steam you up too.
MC’s last blog post..Week 45: Pageant of the Transmundane
Recognise all those things about glasses (yeah, I am wering contacts in the pics you’ve seen… took a while to find glasses I felt comfortable with, though I do have an oddly shaped head) -
and that thing about seeing the world turn suddenly clear, thinking “oh, wow, you mean you can actually SEE stuff like that? See that roof? I can see the tiles on that roof!” etc…
yeah.
(Also, I find different glssses seem to need different types of cloths. I remember when they first said “these glasses use a different, lighter lens material” or some such, and I tried one of my old glasses cloths to clean them, quickly realising that they were useless)
John’s last blog post..Wingpleat (illustrated by Becca)
Thanks MC I hadn’t actually thought about that either, luckily for now in Brisbane we don’t really have that big a seasonal change - it won’t get too cold here but when we eventually move it’s something I’m going to have to deal with!
John - now putting little clear discs in my eyes seems like a crazy man thing to do so I’ll put up with the fogging up and stuff for now LOL.
Yeah because I haven’t had bad eyes all my life I gradually slipped into it and didn’t realise that it had gotten so bad. Tiles on roofs, yup I know that now!
The big telltale sign for me to go see the eye doctor was when I had to ask my wife to read the road signs to me while I was driving. If they could hear that particular conversation, I bet a lot of motorists that day would’ve been quite nervous.
I’ve had glasses for just over a year now and I’m really happy I can see again, but now I have a tendancy to leave them on my desk when I leave work for the day. It’s because I only need them for distance and they’re too hard hard on my eyes for close stuff (like staring at a computer screen all day). The really annoying part of it is I don’t usually remember them until I’ve walked down the stairs and gone through the secerity door :-S
Oh well, small price to pay for ongoing sight.
Ian - what do you do sunglasses wise? I’m ducking in today to grab some clip ons because the walk over the bridge into town was bright as.
Since I got my glasses I’ve been squinting in the sun, as I’m not man enough to pull off the “clip-on sunnies” look. I’m due for my annual Optometrist appointment next month so I going to enquire about the lenses that darken in the sun. Dad’s used them since I’ve been old enough to remember and doesn’t have a problem.
If I get them, I’ll try to remember to let the QYDJ crowd know how I get on.
I went and bought clip ons today and they aren’t too bad - I will also get the lens darkening thingies next time I think.
