Guess the Amerykanski movie part two
March 14th, 2008
I will give you a big hint here saying that this film is one of my favourites of all time and one that I personally believe to be quite underrated. Once again those high concept Polish poster designers have taken a completely different take on the American posters:

As before if you read Polish play fairly and let everyone else guess the film. I’ll let you all know the movie in a day or so.

Oh, that’s easy… it’s gotta be Muppets From Space…
heh.

I promise not to consult Google on this one
What clues can I get from looking at the poster? Well, I can see four words here (well, five if you include the ‘w’) so the english title is probably more than 2 words. I can also see hand that seems to have long sharp fingernails with a ghost-like face on the palm. As for your clue, when someone says “one of my favourites of all time”, they’re usually refering to a film that’s been around for quite a while, and/or a film they first saw before they turned 18.
Is it Nightmare on Elm Street?
I must admit that I’m not too confident with this guess, as the face looks oriental and I’m not sure what to do with the “I personally believe to be quite underrated” comment.

No not Muppets in Space (highly underrated I might add so kudos on that).

Nice try Google boy (lol). I like your method of deduction, but you are wrong. It is an older film, definitely saw it before I turned 18.
Another hint is that this is not part of a franchise, but it bloody well should be.

That doesn’t help :-S
Can we have it’s genre? Is it Sci-fi?
[Reply to this comment]
Ian - no you may not have a genre.

*I’ll have to fix my feed to your blog again I guess…*
I’m ask a Polish guy tomorrow (not which film it is..) but if they always make these kind of strange posters.
It does give a certain ‘cult’ view to it.

Well, I couldn’t take it anymore… I had to Google it. The suspense was eating at me like a rabid gnat. I was getting nowhere fast with this one. I won’t say what it is, but you are right, that movie is SOOO under-rated. Seriously. It does what it does so perfectly. Love it.
This poster… well, at least it’s not quite as wacked out as the last one. At least I can see the connection… sort of.

Arjan - yeah they’ve got a whole site where you can go buy these things and there are a lot of them. My favourite, and it’s one of the less ‘out there’ ones is for The Shining.
Site was having some dramas the other day so that may have been the problem.

Jeff - the movie in question is a masterpiece and your description is really apt - it’s one of those perfect films that its flaws add to its perfection.
When you know what the film is the poster does make a little more sense.

Yeah, I looked it up too… interesting poster to say the least.

It looks to me like this is the classic Big Trouble in Little China (are those eyes green in the colour version of this poster?)
