Previously on Stargate Atlantis

Previously on Stargate Atlantis: not much happened, characters didn’t develop, some were removed in fairly blasÃ© fashion and they swapped planets.

Me personally I watched SGA out of habit and there isn’t any other science fiction currently running (well there is but not enough to fill my weekly quota). That was the case right up until the ultimate episode of mediocrity when three of them were stuck in a hole, an episode I might add that I am not alone in picking on.

Then a beautiful thing happened. Tealc showed up from SG1 with a coll new hairdo and went on a Die Hard run with Ronan. Cool. I enjoyed that.

Then last week the episode started off as I always expect, slow. But then stuff started happening, an old foe returned and then in the last minutes of the episode an old friend made an appearance.

I was shocked, I actually wanted to see the next episode if only to see if my clone theory panned out. Which it did, but I’m not upset by that. It is a clever way of returning a character that you probably shouldn’t have killed off in the first place.

McKay continues to shine and Ronan had a brief flirtation with character growth!?

Then this episode arrives and we have pathos and drama and guest appearances and resolutions and beginnings of new threads and I’m actually interested, no, I’m looking forward to seeing the next episode.

See I don’t always have to put SGA down!!

*Update - I just found out next week is season finale and saw the trailer. I am most definately keen to see!!!!!

Damn! May have to visit my friend who helps me get current shows from the USA. Lord only knows when I will get to see it on Aussie TV.

Marita - This is why I won’t wait on Aussie TV because frankly who knows when it will be on and even then when they do put them on they are late at night and irregular.

Mckay getting aged..

I just use torrents, never had any major problems with my router etc. Downloaded Utorrent, installed it. Download the eztv torrent (usually around 350mb’s) open it with Utorrent and it get’s downloaded to the preferred folder ready to watch with VLC player.
If I wait for Dutch tv to catch up on tv-series ..I’ll turn 80 before I ever get to watch things like The Wire or SGA till the end.

You certainly did see the Doc and McKay kissing - Ummm what’s up with that!?!?!?

Also I read that Beckett definitely returns.

I have to check The Wire out - I’ve only ever seen the title at your blog (whatever that’s called) and have no idea what it’s about.

Tealc’s new hairdo was “cool”?? (Well, you actually wrote “coll”, but I’m assuming… ) I just wanted to throw him into the shower and could barely look at it.

Other than that, all I have to say is,I agree. Adore McKay. (although I have done since his very first appearance on SG1). I was looking forward to seeing Becket again. And, of course, now I have! But I can’t say I was overly excited because Teyla’s dramas always make me snore.

But I’m soooo not watching the trailer for the next one. I like surprises.

You see Lani ‘coll’ is the young people’s language, it means cool or/and funky. Feel free to reuse the term to show that you’re in touch with the younger generation.

Yeah the whole Teyla story I can do without, she should have hooked up with Sheppard. There I said it.

Actually, if Teyla was going to hook up with anyone, this is probably the best way to do it (i.e., not a team member). Going for a team member has been done. Repeatedly.

As for this episode… agreed. It was great to see Beckett again. It wasn’t a perfect episode, but it was well worth the time invested. Nice to see the show recovering from “The Hole Where Drama Stood Still” (I had total confidence that it would, btw - every show has a few serious clunkers, and usually a full-on slump).

Jeff - yeah I suppose you are right and I think that John and Weir had this unspoken thing happening.

It would be hard not to pull itself out of the hole (giggle). I hope they keep it up next season and I hope that they use Beckett well.

I agree with you! These last few episodes have been getting pretty good. I loved seeing Teal’c and Carson??? awesome. The season finale sounds really interesting. I’m almost just as excited to see the Ark of Truth sneak peek trailer during the episode as I am to see the episode. I’ve been over at the myspace (http://www.myspace.com/stargatearkoftruth) getting all the desktops to use, hehe

I must say this is my favorite episode when it came out as it offered a little more than usual and frankly it was about time. Sorry all you folks have to go to so much trouble to see it but like they say the harder you work for something the more you appreciate it. In the US it is throw away stuff watching the latest, so in a way I envy you.
