Apparently there is an upcoming Iron Man film
I know it has been a little while since I’ve written about the Shell-head film that is quickly (not quickly enough) coming to our cinemas in May. I’ve been keeping an eye on it and with the release of the new TV spot for it I felt it was time to reconfirm my unbelievable excitement in regards to it.
First off there are these shots of Iron Man in flight. One word: awesome.

I love the fact that I believe the suit, it looks as real as it could given current effects technology, I would be surprised if these closer shots aren’t the armour in reality against a green screen. Check out if you can (and if you can’t visit the official site for these images but larger) the scratches on the faceplate - I’m glad it gets roughed up. It’s meant to protect the wearer not be all shiny all the time!

That shot could be out of any of the comics! And finally why not take a look at the TV spot and leave a comment expressing your unmatchable excite over this film. All I can say is thank god they put Star Trek back to next year - two awe inspiring touch stones in one year for me might have been too much!

I am so hyped over this movie! In fact, I am trying to contain my excitement and expectations so I won’t be disappointed if I set my entertainment sights too high. Iron Man is one franchise that has even more great stories to tell than the Spider-Man franchise.

How do you think I will be able to plan the non-escapist part of my life with all these movies and tvseries and books and stuff….

Good point. Every time I think I’ve found some breathing space, my sister rings up and lists a dozen or more series I just HAVE to watch…
I mean, there’s nothing I can do, she says I have to watch them - it’s the law.
Oh, awesome trailer, by the way.

When I first heard Robert Downey Jr was playing Stark I was nervous. I still am, but I’m willing to give him a chance.
Looking forward to the Wolverine movie too.

I’m really looking forward to this - I often wondered how ol’ Shellhead could be brought to the big screen and not look, well, plastic.
I guess in about 70 days we’ll find out - think I’ll go watch the trailer again a few dozen times…
I can’t think of anything to write. I’m too distracted by my overwhelming anticipation for this film
Tony - dude don’t hold back - get excited. Get very excited, I think this is going to kick ass even more than Spider-man!!! There I’ve said it.
Arjan - you’re just going to have to suck it up and enjoy some Iron Man!!!
John - it’s hard when people you know who have good taste throw good things at you to watch.
swollenpickles - I was surprised that they picked Downey Jr but I think he’s probably got the experience required to play an alcoholic millionaire.
Cap - those scrapes across the face plate add a nice touch creating a semi realistic feel to what appears to an awesome armour. I was worried they would try and make him reflective (like an old Cylon or something)
Good point, Lee, about Robert Downey, Jr. being qualified to play the alcoholic millionaire playboy
But he is also a fantastic actor and from the teasers alone I think he has the character nailed and can bring Tony Stark to life. My main concern is the scripting.

Tony - I don’t think there is a better person to play Stark - I always pictured Tom Selleck though (cool moustache).
Tom Selleck as Tony Stark?
I always pictured him more as Thomas Wayne.
Although he could use his own monogrammed stuff…
LOLOLOLOL Monogrammed stuff!!! I never even made that connection - I do see what you mean though with him as Wayne though.
This is another movie I can not wait to see!
