Podcatting at Quit Your Day Job

Join us for the second installment of podcatting where I discuss facial hair, Star Trek, Buffy’s hair (briefly) and hint at my misery over Norton 360.

I don’t think it’s a real beard - I think it’s his pet tribble in disguise (which he has smuggled onto the Enterprise against regulations).

Luckily, there’s something about the human cheekbones that proves uniquely appealing to tribbles, thereby curbing their normal reproductive cycle and making them less of a pest than usual. In view of this, Starfleet command appears to have allowed him to keep the tribble.

Then again, I could be mistaken.

I noticed the numbers of ‘ums’ has greatly diminished since the last cat. Well done :-)

Your voice still doesn’t sound anything like I remember. Then again, I am comparing it to a voice that was still recovering from puberty :-p

Jean-Luc - I think in fifty years or so Trekkers will abandon the saying Live Long and Prosper and take up ‘By Riker’s beard!’ as their catch phrase. Just think:

‘By Riker’s beard I must get me one of those hoverboards!’

John - There was that nasty business in Insurrection where Riker abandoned his Tribble pets (that is according to your theory). I wonder what was up with that? He felt younger and when he was younger Tribbles on the face weren’t cool?

Ian - yeah this was actually a last minute thing as I wasted all my Sunday with Norton 360 - time I will never get back :(

So there was much less time to think about it.

Heck I still don’t recognise my voice LOL

You ever met any hip young ensigns down at the Academy who thought having a tribble on the face might be cool? It’s not the “done thing” in that crowd - or so I’m told.

as to character changes: (saw SGA in the meanwhile) Ronan got a tattoo which got written in the script. But it fits his character without problem.

beards: by Riker’s beard sounds cool haha.
I have a beard since early july, but it grows quite fast. Being lazy for a week or so is enough. There were a lot of people moaning and B*ing about it but others found it cool. But it’s going to come off again in a month (or earlier). I took mugshots for my public transport card which will be usable till december which features my beard (goaty and up the sides 2 fingers wide). But they didn’t complain about my ID pas which dóesn’t feature my beard, so I’m not worried.

Oh and the cat looks like the top part of the ‘monster’ that features Yahtzee makes in his zero punctuation reviews (see at around 1.05).

Good old random podcats. That is the great thing about the internet, everyone who wants a voice can have one.
