My current obsession - Lord of the Rings The Third Age
I kinda bought Lord of the Rings: The Third Age for the Playstation by mistake, well maybe not mistake but I certainly didn’t realise what the game was before I opened it at home.
What you didn’t spot the Lord of the Rings logo?
Yes I did smart mouth. I played both of the other movie tie ins for the PS2, actually Tracey and I played them and it was an awesome bonding experience for us and prolonged the joy of the whole Lord of the Rings experience (I won’t read the books - I dunno - maybe I will someday). They were great games where you got to be your favourite character and basically whoop arse.
The Third Age is a turn based RPG and it’s been years since I’ve played such a game (Krondor for example) and I thought I wouldn’t be that interested in it but I think I’ve been playing for just under twenty hours (it records time spent playing!) and I’m hooked.The story runs concurrently with the filmed trilogy (they didn’t have the rights to the book) and tries not to step on the movies toes. I’ve read others were not so impressed with the story and consider it not to be canon although others think as long as it doesn’t contradict the book anything published (licenced) is canonical.
What is nice too is that I’m only 62% of the way through so I get to enjoy it for a bit longer!

that cavetroll reminds me of the ‘Berserker’ in Gears of war. Damn scary when it comes at you. Oh and I’m also playing CoD4..which is downright addictive.
Is thís game also available for pc? Cause I don’t have any console.

I would be pretty surprised if it wasn’t available for PC as I’m reasonably certain the previous games were.
Gears of War is one game I’m semi ashamed to say I haven’t given a look despite what everyone says about it. Heck I only just had a brief play of Half Life (yes the original) and spent a fair portion of the time staring at the ceiling.
Actually it’s funny again because of I just picked up cheap the first CoD.
Man I’m behind on all of these - going to take me years to catch up….. I might go read a comic.
I’m thinking of buying a console, but I’m not sure which one I should go with. Any suggestions?
