More thoughts on Star Wars Clone Wars plus a warm up sketch

I’ve been working my way through Star Wars Clone Wars and am now midway through Season Two.  I’m actually loving this series a lot more than I thought I might and whilst the odd episode doesn’t hold my attention the majority are fun bite sized slices of the Star Wars universe.

One character that I thought I’d never warm to is Ahsoka Tano, Skywalker’s padawan but she’s grown on me and I find myself hoping for a last minute escape for her when the events of Episode III go down.  I have to say though I think the impression that Yoda and Obi Wan are the last of the Jedi in the original trilogy is really getting eroded as the games seem to be slipping survivors in (Force Unleashed).  I hate to think that Ahsoka is going to be killed by Skywalker or her Clone Troopers but at some point she is going to have to die.

I’m really enjoying the other Jedi as well, in fact the only one I really don’t like is Anakin Skywalker.  Dude’s a dick.

But I was happy to see the first real impression that he’ll one day be Darth Vader as he interrogated someone to find out how to help Ahsoka in the zombie episode, if I’m not mistaken a couple of bars of the Darth Vader theme found their way in.

If you’re not watching Clone Wars I highly recommend it, the episodes aren’t long and there’s lots of explosions!

In non related news (kind of related to the warm up sketch I guess) I’m starting the Alien sketch card set hopefully this afternoon.  Should be fun!

  1. If you’re only in Season 2, there’s some really good stuff on the way dealing with the Vader issue. And just some really good stuff, period. (and also some crap, but luckily it’s not a majority)
