I can’t imagine there’s going to be too much in there that surprises Spider-man fans, even the knowledge that Parker’s parents are in there isn’t exactly new ground as the comics have covered that in the past. I’m still looking forward to the film don’t get me wrong (I don’t need Rol chasing me with pitch fork) but I sincerely don’t expect to see a truly surprising story. In fact I’m happy for them to do away with the origin story completely!!!
Is Amazing Spider-man on all of your lists or is it too soon to be rebooting?

yeah the untold story threw me off a bit too. And it is a good poster but this is Spiderman, he’s not dark character. Where’s the color? This shouldn’t be Twilight…
Isin’t this the new “dark and gritty” Spider-man everyone has been asking for…
Oh, no one asked for that???
Too early for a reboot? Yes. Looking forward to it? Yes -- but cautiously.
I don’t mind the Untold Story bit. While perhaps not technically true, it’s close enough for the general public. I doubt many know the history of Peter’s parents, outside of comic fans -- heck, even I have only a vague notion of it. I can’t call myself a voracious comic reader, but I do keep my ear out for stuff like that. Of course, that’s assuming their referring to his parents. Could be something else in there. Maybe they’re inserting some kind of bad-boy phase into the origin story, before he really becomes a good guy. I doubt it, though.
Well I guess we also don’t know what exactly they’ll be doing with his parents and how much it will differ from the comics as well.
I too am cautiously looking forward to this.
I love Donald Glover talking about the rumors that he could have been Spiderman:
He’s not kidding when he talks about how different he is from his Community character, even his voice is different. I should try and catch some more of his stand up.
