Captcha forms – better with Harry Potter spells?

Nobody really likes Captcha forms on websites except those on the receiving end of less spam.

I was on a website somewhere the other day and had to fill out a captcha form which I swear had a spell from a Harry Potter book, so this got me to thinking.  Why don’t they have more fun with these things?

Yes thats a real spell.

It shouldn’t stop there, for touch screens the Captcha should be you waving a magic wand spell with your finger!

I also envisage Star Trek Klingon ones or Firefly or Farscape swear words.

Any that you guys could suggest?

    • Agreed, though I find spam worse :(

Thanks for dropping by Fiona, I usually answer comments much quicker!!

  1. I’ve come across a great range of funny captcha’s over the years, but haven’t seen any Harry Potter spells.

Obvious anagrams would be fun or characters from movies.

  2. That would be cool.

When the Captcha is in a comment for a blog, I play the Captcha definition game. If it sounds like a word, make up a definition and put it in the comment.

The funniest non-word Captcha I had was: “4TMNT”. Why, yes, there were four…

    • See I’ve never noticed that I’m going to have to go back over your comments from when I had a captcha form!!

  3. we started our SweetCaptcha project bec’ of 3 main reasons :
    1. we hate the current CAPTCHA !
and it has a -33% bouncing rate for users who can find out what are the ugly words are!
    2. Its doesn’t have any design! , you setup a website -- work and put in the design -- and than
you need a CAPTCHA -- and to impelemnt this ugly box? no way!
    3. its impossible to fill it via iPhones ,iPads or Android (any mobile ! )

will be happy to hear from you what do you think of our SweetCaptcha dot com service :)
