I thought I might go for a song I know quite well this week rather than a discovered one (although that was really only last week’s). Once again though it is the Australian music show Rage which has brought this to my attention as they ran a bunch of the guys from Robot Chicken’s favourite videos this morning and this was one of them. They’re doing more tonight and frankly if I were ten years younger I’d probably stay up all night and watch.
Actually if I was ten years younger I probably wouldn’t want to.

Twisted Sister are really interesting.
- Dee Snider, the singer, testified in front of the US Congress in 1985, speaking against a music censorship scheme championed by the PMRC, led by Tipper Gore (Al Gore's wife). Looking the way he does, they were expecting him to be a real idiot but in fact he's highly intelligent, articulate, and an excellent public speaker and he had a lot to do with the measure being watered down.
- In the documentary Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, Dee talks quite a bit about gender in music and what they were doing at the time with the cross-dressing.
- Twisted Sister released an awesome Christmas album a couple of years ago (“on the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me: a tattoo of Ozzy”).
- And now Dee is running a tongue in cheek campaign called “Take Back the Horns” (http://www.takebackthehorns.com/) against misuse of the metal horns hand sign in non-metal music.
So there you go Lee, more than you ever wanted to know about Twisted Sister
That's actually really interesting as I know nothing about Twisted Sister except for a handful of songs.
Although I'm certain I've heard that about Dee before, then again for some reason people tend to be surprised when these guys turn out to be quite intelligent, thoughtful and well spoken.

I don't know much about Twisted Sister other than the hair, the make-up and couple of really rocking songs. The trademark nasal vocals were the thing innit! I love 'I wanna rock'. I had a mixtape which had that song for years, and I didn't even know the artist hehe.
And Robot Chicken's playlist is very awesome. GnR+Nirvana+FOTC+AC/DC+DireStraits = Absolutely Awesome. Darn, I need my iPod to get charged
