So over at the Midnight Movie Club Dan and I sat and watched Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and to find out how that went you need to go over and listen to the podcast, which has much higher production qualities thanks to Dan this week.
Watching the film though reminded me how much I absolutely love Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey and the following trailer was one of the most anticipated ones for me as a young teenager:
Watching that trailer brings back a lot of memories and now I’m kind of wondering if there was a trailer from my childhood that I got more excited over (I’ll ponder this and get back to you).
From your childhood what’s the first trailer you remember being really excited about?

It does look rather good. Maybe we should add it to the list.
I was surprised how much I wanted to watch this after watching the trailer and the first one – held off in the off chance we wanted to do a follow up on midmoclub
lol… I completely forgot about the “challenging Death” games. That is just fantastic cinema.
You know, I can't remember specifically noticing trailers at all in my youth, which is kinda sad. I gotta think that the most exciting ones would have been Star Wars or Indiana Jones sequels, though.
I remember seeing this one at least a couple of times, mainly on the early sunday evening.
So over the top that it's funny.
For me, the trailer for Superman: The Movie was one that had me counting the days till release – in Ireland, trailers were always accompanied by the announcement “Coming shortly to a cinema near you” and to check press for details. However press announcements would only begin the week before a movie opened, and you'd sometimes see the same trailer for anything up to six months in advance, so we learned to be patient.
That being said, when I saw The Three Musketeers one Saturday afternoon when I was about 12, there was a trailer built in at the end for The Four Musketeers, with the announcement that it would be playing the following Saturday, so that was one to really be excited about…
I only remember the Indiana Jones 3 trailer – too young for the others.
Death is particularly great in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, his checking out the rakes and hoes in the department store is especially special.
Oh I'd forgotten how damn good that movie was.
“How's it hangin' death?”
I have to find the DVD. I watched Excellent Adventure again a couple of weeks ago.
My most anticipated movie trailer? Labyrinth. I have been a Bowie fan since I was about 9 years old, add Muppets to that and I was a happy, happy girl.
