So the votes are finally in and tallied.  We have the three pop culture vehicles that will be featured in the follow up to the most  awesome garage in the world illustration.

  • The van from The A-Team
  • The Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo
  • KITT from Knight Rider

I was not so secretly hoping that the Light Bike from Tron would get a look in but it wasn’t meant to be and I am of course completely impartial for this particular piece.  Because of the types of vehicles chosen I have to rethink the layout because it won’t work the same as the first one.  I’ve got some good ideas though.

I expect to get the piece done sometime in the next three weeks, I’ve got a couple of weeks off work and I’ve got two other main projects on at the moment in addition to the Midnight Movie Club, Abe Decker and of course Quit Your Day Job.

The first one feels similar to “awesome garage” in that it deals with pop culture nostalgia and I expect it to show up as a limited edition print over on my Etsy store:

horror class of the 80s - sneak peek (half done)

The other that I’ve been engaged for is a two part series titled kitchen ninja and below is the essentially drawn on a cocktail napkin thumb sketch for one half:

I've got the midnight movie club, my blog, my charity walk, restarting my blood bowl league, and somehow finding some time to work and spend time with my family.

    Oh boy.

looking forward to seeing all projects finished.
Posts coming up from my side: a collection-post about posts on another blog about the music in True Blood. And a post about me being a pyromaniac, there are gonna new models for my 40k army so I'll probably make a short boring post about that and there'll be some more photo posts (gonna re-photograph my entire army..)

Remember the most important thing there is to make the time to spend with that very cool family of yours.

    Then Midnight Movie Club.

    Then your excellent charity work.

(OK maybe the charity work over the club)

Oh cool, I look forward to seeing those photos of the 40k army!!

Good to see you blogging about soundtracks again :)

Well, I've said it before, and I'll say it again… that the Mach-5 didn't get the votes points to something very wrong in the world.

I'm looking forward to seeing your projects come to completion.

As for my projects… hmm… I'm not sure. My blogging has slowed to a crawl lately. Most of my non-work energy has been split between fixing broken computers in my house (which I may have finally finished), spending time with family, birthday and Christmas happenings, getting my finances straightened out, and learning composing/arranging. Though I'd like to fit in some gaming and increase the blogging, I'm not sure that's gonna happen.

btw… did you do something different with your RSS feed recently? I only seem to get every other post in my Google Reader for the last few weeks.

so, you're finally going to post pics or YOUR 40k work? About time, bub!

Can't wait for the Garage of Awesome. It should be, well, awesome.

I've got too much stuff going on, myself. Four commissions (6″ x 6″ ink drawings), two freelance websites (one with identity design), some fanart for a Rahne Sinclair fansite, an obscurius.org re-design and an illustration collaboration with my wife.

    sheesh.

you should do a Flash animated infomercial for the Kitchen Ninja. “It slices! It dices! It does away with Lord Nakajima who's been a thorn in your side for years!”
