I think it is most fitting to end the year with a post looking forward into the coming year and what better way than with one last list for the season.

Next year is looking to be pretty awesome on the film front and so I thought I might put out there the 10 films that I’m most looking forward to:

  1. Iron Man 2 – it’s a no-brainer, this is going to be AWESOME.
  2. Alice in Wonderland – another easy one since it’s Tim Burton and I love pretty much everything he brings out.
  3. Clash of the Titans – I loved the original, this one has horrible trailers but I think it might just work from what I can make out in the footage.
  4. Wall Street 2 - if only out of pure sick curiosity.
  5. The A-Team – the one photo I’ve seen is enough to make me more than interested.
  6. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time – the new Pirates?  Could be fun.
  7. Jonah Hex – it certainly has the look and feel down already so I’m interested.
  8. The Expendables – holy crap what a cast!!!!
  9. Tron Legacy – I love Tron so I really want to see what they do with this, it has Jeff Bridges in it so automatically awesomeness seeps in.
  10. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice – I think that this will be the year where we see Nic Cage in at least a couple of really great performances and from the trailer this looks like it might suit his often ‘ahem’ over-the-top acting style.

I could have mentioned Harry Potter and whilst I am interested in seeing it, I really don’t care so much, I think splitting the last book is a mistake and frankly the last film didn’t impress me at all.  But it will no doubt look great and there are some awesome scenes in that last story.

So any films that you guys are looking forward to next year?

hmm… don't know if many of those will get me to the cinema this year but we'll see.

Have a happy and safe new year, Lee.

The Senate hearing part of the trailer brings up an interesting point that the film probably won't pursue. The Libertarian “you want my property? You can't have it” and “I've successfully privatized world peace” reminds me about 'power corrupts'. So, Tony Stark is (now) a Good Man and will help keep world peace and as the sole user of the most powerful weapon in the world HE decides who is good and who is bad? Not to say the US Government has made a great deal of fantastic decisions concerning world peace lately, but Tony could really 'eff' things up if he isn't careful.

This only comes up because the film puts Ironman squarely in the Real World instead of the M.U.

Also, I prefer Ironman to be Tony Stark's bodyguard. For Ironman to be a 'out' hero sort of bothers me and I can't say why.

Man. This is 'over some pints of Guinness' talk…

Hoping that you and yours had a good New Year's Eve and are looking forward to a great 2010.

I've been going to the cinema more and more actually, we stopped for a while there so it may not be so hard to get me there ;)

Gotta see Tron Legacy. If I see no other movies, that'll be the one I see.

I haven't seen that A-Team photo, I guess. Haven't heard of The Expendables, either.

Definitely want to see Iron Man 2 (that would be an extremely close #2 on my list), and Clash of the Titans.

I'm not worried about them breaking up the final Potter book. I'm hoping that means the story will be better than the last outing. Haven't read any books yet so I'm only experiencing the stories from the film POV at this point.

2010 is shaping up to be a good year for films!
