I must admit that over the last week or so I was getting pretty jaded at the whole hype thing going on with Avatar, how it was showing up in awards lists and best of’s etc. I heard that the script wasn’t anything special but it looked great. Others praised it to such ridiculous levels that it was hard to believe.
Avatar changes everything.
As I write this I’m only an hour or so out of the viewing and I’m completely blown away.
Completely.
If you have the choice see this in 3D, wait to see it in 3D if you have to.
Don’t wait for it to come out on DVD or even Blu-ray. It is worth making the trip into town, it is worth getting a babysitter, it is worth paying a little extra to see it.
It’s not just a film it is an experience, you are there. Plus in my opinion it actually has a very strong story, a great cast and brilliant design.
Could I find any faults? Sure, if you are a mean old bastard, but you know what? I can pick apart any film you want. As much as it would pain me to do so in some cases but picking apart a film is easy, the film has to make you not want to and Avatar easily allows you to ignore any flaw it may have.
Great film.
Go see it.
Worth every penny and it should get the Academy Award, it won’t, but it bloody well should.

Yeah, okay, but did you like it?
You just cemented what I'm hoping to do in the week after Christmas.

It's one film that I can easily recommend with complete confidence if seeing it at the cinema in 3D.
I think I know where the feral geek child will be spending his 13th birthday tomorrow
Ta
Feral geek child and his Dad saw it – HUGE thumbs up from them both, they LOVED it.
They both echoed your statement – see it in 3D, it totally makes the whole thing complete, they said.

That's great to hear!!
I'm waiting on someone seeing it in 2D to confirm if they liked it or not. Should be interesting.
This film is on my list to watch! Just need to make the time for it . .
Yep. Totally agree that no Blu-Ray can simulate the 3D experience. I think home entertainment has to catch up a lot.
And speaking of that, I think I'll work harder to earn lotsa money to get myself a huge 3D telly, and watch Avatar on it, whenever it is out.
But for the time being, I think Cineworld is going to find a new loyal customer in me
i completely loved Avatar as well. my husband and i went to see it tonight in 3D wow. it left me wishing i could live there:) awesome , fabulous, 10 thumbs up .Iloved it.
“Best movie of all time” is an understatement…

I loved this film….. saw it on my own today!!! The CGI is amazing….. and I want to be a NA'VI and live on pandora!!!!!
It’s a very good film, but not a great film. Sure it looks magnificent in the cinema but it does lack emotional depth. Good entertainment nonetheless.
