Long time readers of Quit Your Day Job will possibly remember this Aquaman story revisited, I just dug it up in my external hard drive and for some reason I was talking about Aquaman a lot today (???) so I wanted to repost this in its entirety.

Because it’s so long I’ve included a break so if you are reading this on the homepage then you should see a ‘more’ link (I’ve never used it before so I have no idea what it looks like).

Anyway enjoy Aquaman and Some Fire Trolls, retweet if you find it funny or leave a comment!

“Meanwhile, in a yellow section of Gotham” — ha ha … this was great. Nice job. Did you do this, or find it?

“If Aquaman had theme music…” that’s awesome.

I did it ages ago, I had planned on doing more but I think I was concerned about bandwidth or something having so many images – or I just got lazy which is probably the more likely.

My favourite line is probably “they’re heading for the muffins” I still giggle like a child, I also think I made Batman a jerk.

I only know Aqua man from a sketch in Robot Chicken s04.02. Go watch it ..now!
It’s only 10 minutes of your life if you watch the complete episode and it’s darn worth it *download time excluded..but it’s only 100mb*

That was fantastic! Though, much like MST3k films, Silver Age comics are ever-so-close to being too bad to be good.

I was going to make a joke about how we have “FLAME trolls” now. But, that would be stupid :)

Speaking of Aquaman and his inadequacies, have you heard Aquaman’s Lament? Great song, terrible, terrible video. Load it up and then go to another tab…

How does Batman breathe underwater? In fact, how does Aquaman breathe on land? If he can live on land, he really isn’t “Aqua” is he? More like Turtlemandudethingamejig.

I’m very worried about what is in the muffins – How do you bake underwater? Too, why is Aquaman cleaning his house when it is full of water? How the hell do you do that? You’d just get sweeping the floor, and the ebb and flow of the water would blow in a crab, or some other nasty blighter.

    • Lee says:

Batman took anti drown bat pills.

The rest will all be revealed in a new book coming out; The Science Behind Aquaman and Some Fire Trolls. Look for it in reasonably poor bookstores next year.

  5. Haha – brilliant, Lee!

I’ve always felt a little sorry for Aquaman – a bit of an aquatic ‘Dr. Doolittle’ – never foiled bank robbers, useless in space, and sort of knew it. Y’know, got into the JLA because he’s a king.

The current episode of Supergirl in Wednesday Comics is a case in point. Kara goes to Aquaman for help when the superpets start to act strange, but poor ol’ Arthur hasn’t got anything.

“You want me to tell you what a bucket of shrimp is thinking? Fine. I’m your man.”

Kind of sums it up, really…

See I pick on Aquaman (a lot) but I’ve started building a bit of respect for him and a little sadness that the character has been mishandled.

He should be THE guy to go to with aquatic problems!
