I haven’t done a meme for ages and certainly haven’t since the relaunch/disaster of this blog so when Dan tagged me for the top ten movie character list it was perfectly timed.
So the idea is fairly self-explanatory I will list what I consider to be the top ten movie characters of all time:
- The Dude – The Big Lebowski
- Jack Burton – Big Trouble in Little China
- Peter Venkman – Ghostbusters
- Marty McFly – Back to the Future
- Ash – Army of Darkness / Evil Dead
- Ellen Ripley – Alien
- Sarah Connor – Terminator
- Dirty Harry – Dirty Harry
- Rocky Balboa – Rocky
- Indiana Jones – Raiders of the Lost Ark
I don’t think they are in any particular order, maybe subconsciencly I think The Dude would be very close to the top at any rate as well as Jack Burton. I tried to keep to movie specific characters too, James Kirk for instance isn’t there because of Star Trek the television series, Batman because of the comics and so on.

Nice list! I think mine would be mostly the same except I’d take out Jack Burton, Rocky, Dirty Harry and Indy out and put in…

Good list, althouhg I too have little love for big trouble. But I only watched it for the first time last week. i suspect it’s a movie you have to grow up with.

I like your list, even when mine (if I would make this same list) would probably include a bunch of other characters.
Hmm, tough one. I’ll certainly go with Indiana Jones, the Dude and Rocky on your list.
Apart from that, my list would have- Jay and Silent Bob, Morpheus [ from the 1st movie, where he was the cool one], Tyler Durden, Wall E, John McClane [ surprised u didnt include him] and of course Black Mamba..aka the Bride.
