OK that’s a controversial title.
This probably isn’t the best trailer ever, but I personally think that it is one of the more effective ones.
Before I go on you should just watch it, three warnings though, it’s longer than a normal trailer, it is oh so not safe for work and you have to watch it!
Wow, right?
Now I know a lot of you saying, dude geisha tanks are extraordinarily brilliant yes, but best trailer, really?
Allow me to explain.
I didn’t care about this film, at all.
Heard about it somewhere and dismissed it completely, I’ve already seen Machine Girl, I just wasn’t going to get excited about this film at all.
The trailer though completely and utterly intrigues me so much that I want to actually see this now. And that is what a trailer is supposed to do.
I mean how can anyone see the fried shrimp scene and not want to find out more?!?
The highlights that stand out for me:
- that guy doing the voice over in that weird whisper/mumble, that is genius!
- the sound track to the trailer is a rip I mean homage to Live and Let Die.
- Geisha transform!
- how the Shiro Robot hits a building and it bleeds!
So what do you think?

Only in Japan…
I think this one should (if it isn’t already) be featured on What the Asian.
So crazy, it’s just funny.

I recommend Machine Girl for further Japanese cinematic nuttiness
I’ve seen the trailer a while ago (probably when the movie came out), haven’t seen the movie yet.

“Handicap gun?” I always thought that the handicapped ought to be empowered that way.
“No wheelchair ramp?!? I’ll show you!”
LOL – very empowering – i like how the voice is really impressed with himself too as he says it.
I’m not even sure there are words for what I think of this. It’s just…. really? Wow. Oh my… What the…? and ooookkaaaayyy.
