It was that, or Funny People (I noted i hadn't really mentioned comedies) and I'm not entirely sold yet on Funny People.

Year One could easily be another 'Evolution' all promise and an empty film.

I'll check what the mission in Starblazers season three is when I get home, the pack is available in R4 (Australia etc) so i can only assume that it was released in other markets.

I can only take one super-anachronistic caveman movie myself. And since I've already watched Ringo's "Caveman", then I'm done.

Oh. NOW I see it ;)

I never saw season three of Starblazers. Season one is the Quest To Iskandar, Season Two is the Comet Empire, what happens season Three? Are they on DVD?

I am not entirely sold on the movie Year One. There is just something about it that leaves me cold and I can't put my finger on it.

In fairness though the demographic who actually vote in the MTV Movie Awards lends itself to a Twilight whitewash :)

I think as a stand alone film Twilight is not that fantastic, there are some choices in there that I wouldn't have approached but the overall blue sheen look was fine by me.

I was just surprised that they showed so much of the new movie in that trailer, especially showing the full wolf effect. I was under the impression judging by the photos being released that they were still filming.

I'm a big fan of Starblazers, I've been making my way through season one at home (I've got the three) although Ulysses 31 has distracted me slightly. So like you I am certainly more of a fan of that than Astroboy and have read the rumors of them making a Starblazers film, which if done right could be all shades of awesome.

I'll check X-Minus-One out.

Did you see too that Moon was on my first list: http://quityourdayjob.com.au/2009/05/2009s-not-over-yet-five-films-im-looking-forward-to/

Bahaha, the Mistress beat me to it.

I liked Twilight and the blue sheen the movie had. New Moon has more money thrown at it, and I think that shows, but now the vamps look human.

I watched the MTV Movie Awards and Twilight was in charge the whole night.

I never saw Astroboy as a kid ( I was more of a Starblazers/Yamato fan), but It looks really fun. The one movie I am REALLY looking forward to is Moon. It is old-school, silver age sci-fi at its best. The trailer really reminds me of something from the old American radio show X-Minus-One. Much better than a Michael Bay mindless explosion-fest.

I also can't wait for Drag Me To Hell. Rami's back! The only thing that would make it better would be more Bruce Campbell.

Seriously, if you're a fan classic sci-fi, check out X-Minus-One. Most of the episodes are remarkably good for being over half a century old.
