I guess if you are a parent or you live far away from a cinema then the movie really has to sell itself to you to force the effort to go out.

9 looks like it would still be a pretty neat DVD movie so I’m probably happy to wait, Coraline (I think that’s the name) looks the same for me.

Argh... I've been procrastinating on making this year's list. To comment on yours, there are a few I wasn't aware of, though I saw the trailer for 9 when I saw Star Trek. That one was one of those that if I was not a parent, I'd go see. It's not quite at the level of negotiating babysitting logistics, but it looks really interesting. That was just to keep you on your toes. Our local cinemas are not so great and it’s really painful making our way into the CBD on weekends and especially after hours so i’m forced to really weigh up seeing a film at the cinema.

I won’t probably even see a third of these at the cinema.

I only had my heart set on Star Trek this year so anything else that comes out that I really love is just gravy.

I think the Sherlock film is not going to mesh well with the established view of Holmes in literature (of which I am a huge fan). So I’m just going to go with this being an ‘interpretation’ and not canon (for want of a better term).
